BELONG
SHOE DESIGN PROJECT(2005)
Shoe projects are standard issue during most product design courses. Wearables involve a more complex process and
therefore are interesting to design. Yet they are often an exercise in aesthetics and aren’t always focused on a specific
solution. With this project I decided to look at issues such as manufacturing, construction, wear & tear and intelligent packaging.
The result was a system that uses screws and not glues to hold the shoes’ simplified components together, and that ships with
a unifying ‘home base’ that can serve multiple purposes instead of becoming landfill.
