The cutlery comes in an envelope that doubles as a napkin, allowing them to be shipped as a self-contained package.

After being placed in the soil, the PLA tip abrades on contact and releases the seed + fertilizer into the soil. The remaining shaft degrades more slowly, and thus remains as a stake indicating what's growing beneath. Once the tip fully degrades, the label changes color indicating a successful planting.
